SBB in Service: Bringing Toys and Smiles

During December 2025, the Sigma Beta Beta Chapter carried out its annual toy drive with the goal of bringing moments of joy, comfort, and encouragement to children and families during the holiday season.

As part of this effort, toys were distributed to the South Oaks Hospital Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program. The program provides comprehensive psychiatric care, combining therapy, education, and family support to help young patients manage challenges, build resilience, and work toward personal growth. The chapter’s contribution was intended to offer a sense of warmth and normalcy to children receiving care during the holidays. The toys served as small but meaningful gestures, reminding patients and their families that they were supported and remembered beyond the hospital setting.

The chapter’s service continued on Christmas Eve through a partnership with the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury. Brothers joined in distributing toys to children in the community, helping to create an atmosphere of celebration and connection during a meaningful time of year. The smiles and excitement shared throughout the day reflected the impact of coming together in service and generosity.

Together, these efforts highlight the chapter’s commitment to service that centers care, compassion, and presence. Through its annual toy drive and community partnerships, Sigma Beta Beta demonstrated that bringing toys is also about bringing hope, reassurance, and moments of happiness to those who need them most.
